Phase Thread is a haunting exploration of light,
perception, restriction and threat. The work is a
response to my experience of ESP’s history and
current presence. The title refers to the
experience of moving back and forth in time
when pondering historic artifacts. It also speaks
to our connection to the past.
Phase Thread is thousands of monofilament
strands crisscrossing each other to form horizontal
planes suspended between rows of cells. These
planes create a mesh supported by a network of
wire anchored to concealed wooden tripods.
