Trace, 2006
Installation Proposal

The piece is inspired by the notion of the Terminal
as a gathering place for great flocks, invoking the
image of an ancient tree standing firm, offering
support beneath the clouds above. Trace is also
rooted in my fascination with cumulous clouds.
The visual vocabulary of Trace is a hybrid,
expressing both foliage and puffs of vapor and,
with gentle arcs sweeping through it, evoking the
intangible elements of movement and travel.
These arcs also can be interpreted as paths through
a forest, contrails carved through the sky or the
tracings of those who have passed beneath.
