Helm Drop

2007, Installation at Sande Webster Gallery
Philadelphia, PA
108" h x 104" w (visable)

Set outside the large bay window, an alternative exterior atmosphere is constructed of shaped screening. The shapes are layered sufficiently to make it appear that this environment is infinite.

This piece challenges the mastery implied by the galleries stately architecture. The piece evokes the duality experienced when control is forfeited; serenity vs. a horrific sense of suffocation.
