In River, I begin with the wandering contours of waterways—not as landscape, but as line. Their courses are cut, folded, or drawn into small square sheets. What appears at first to be a map becomes a physical event: the paper opens, buckles, and casts shadows, revealing its own depth.

 

The river is present without water or horizon. Its form survives as a trace of movement, separation, and connection. Some lines remain spare; others gather into dense, restless tangles. By allowing the paper to break and lift, I turn geographic information into fragile reliefs—small terrains held between image and object.
