Summer '22
Increasingly over the years, I have become a figure in my work. I label them all self portraits, no matter how obscured the image has become.
In the summer of ’22 my physique works have blossomed. I began to explore posing outdoors in public spaces. I selected a variety of backdrops, from iconic to natural.
Collectively, they are not a unified body of works. Some celebrate aspiration, others the male figure. The works are a blend of surrealism, heroic, aspirational, fantastic and emotive. All explore identity, my relationship between body and self, flesh and environment.
